Between AD 1589 and 1734, the small Rajput Yaduvamshi (or Yadavas) kingdom of Karauli was ruled in succession by Dwarka Das, Mukund Das, Jagman, Chhatraman, Dharmapal, Ratanpal and Kanwarpal II (r. 1691-1734.) The period was generally marked by an overall state of confusion and dissension. Internal palace squabbles and harem intrigues added to the disorder.
